19. Application of Part III to persons with mental handicap

The references in sections 14, 14B, 15 and 16 to a person under 18 years of age shall include references to a person with a mental disorder, within the meaning of section 5 of the Criminal Justice Act 1993, who has reached the age concerned.
Unfortunately, for some reason, the title of this section was not amended to mirror the vocabulary within the section.
S.13 (Videolink) is now no longer included in this section so for persons with an intellectual disability, applications for videolink can be made under s.13(1)(b) Criminal Evidence Act 1992

“mental disorder” includes a mental illness, mental disability, dementia or any disease of the mind;
