New fees for counsel for pre-trial applications

'Revised Fee Rates to Counsel - DPP

Following discussions with the Office of the DPP, the Fee Rates to Counsel have been updated as of 10th June 2020 to now include fees for certain pre-trial applications in the Circuit and Central Criminal Court as follows:

• Applications relating to disclosure issues;

• Applications made pursuant to Section 19A for counselling records;

• Applications for Special Measures. 

For standard applications in respect of disclosure, counselling records and special measures, the fee is €247 and for complex applications, the fee is €572.

The fee will be set by the Head of Section at either the standard or complex rate depending on the length and complexity of the application and the amount of preparatory work required.'
